  History

394 & 398, 400 & 402, Federal, 1820

After having been in such poor disrepair that they were condemned by the City, these row houses were recently renovated to their Federal block appearance. A deed of 1819 described the 8 foot “gangway to be used as tenants in common” and reserves the right of erecting a building over “said gangway.”
